Cocksburnspath Tower 2011 before collapse

News has just come in regarding the massive collapse of one of the walls of the 15th century tower of Cockburnspath, Berwick.

The debris from a 40 foot high, 6 foot thick section can be clearly seen in the attached photograph as a fresh spread of rubble.

This is the inevitable fate of all uncared for sites and it is an outcome that we in the SCA strive to prevent.
