Additional Information:

Some tour highlights will include Traquair House - said to be the oldest continuously inhabited house in Scotland - and Neidpath Castle high above the river. Then there is a French-style château built by a Scottish Regent using public money - which cost him his head.

In Peebles we shall have lunch in a pub with a vaulted basement and visit a church whose priest lived in the tower to prevent the English from burning him alive as they had attempted on a previous visit.

Then there are tower houses, one a complete ruin, until beautifully restored in recent years, along with a little known bastle house situated in remote uplands.

We shall admire a fine 16th century painted ceiling and make a visit to a superb private country house and last, but not least, the inevitable 'field sites'.

We hope to see as many of you as possible.
